Household Vulnerability to Climate Change and Identification of Target Beneficiaries to Implement Household-Specific Adaptation Strategies: A Quantitative Assessment

چکیده

This study investigated the climate change vulnerability of 6,214 households in drought-prone districts Telangana state India. Principal component analysis (PCA) and cluster were used to group farm based on their level suggest a portfolio adaptation strategies. The PCA revealed presence five components from 14 key variables: (1) access irrigation; (2) credit access, landholding, income agriculture; (3) household size sources; (4) information climate-smart practices; (5) social capital. first (eigenvalue ? 1) collectively accounted for 60.42 percent total variance. Three clusters emerged after scores analyzed using K-means clustering: extremely vulnerable, moderately resilient households. results that 79 11.20 9.65 resilient. Moreover, 96 marginal farmers 94 smallholder while 19 large 16 medium vulnerable. Interestingly, nearly 26 vulnerable category farmers, which contradicts previous assumptions. findings this can guide development practitioners, policymakers, donors designing evidence-based programs focusing change.

What do we know about UK household adaptation to climate change? A systematic review

The UK Government's first National Adaptation Programme seeks to create a 'climate-ready society' capable of making well-informed and far-sighted decisions to address risks and opportunities posed by a changing climate, where individual households are expected to adapt when it is in their interest to do so. How, and to what extent, households are able to do this remains unclear. Like other deve...

Mapping vulnerability and conservation adaptation strategies under climate change

Identification of spatial gradients in ecosystem vulnerability to global climate change and local stressors is an important step in the formulation and implementation of appropriate countermeasures1,2. Here we build on recent work to map ecoregional exposure to future climate, using an envelopebased gauge of future climate stability—defined as a measure of how similar the future climate of a re...
